Tuesday 19 January 2010 KENEALLY CONTINUES LABOR’S DELAYING TACTICS ON IMPLEMENTING GARLING RECOMMENDATIONSKristina Keneally has failed to make a clean break with Labor’s past health failures by announcing further delays to the implementation of the Garling inquiry recommendations to do with NSW Kids, Deputy NSW Opposition Leader and Shadow Minister for Health Jillian Skinner said today. “After having the Garling Inquiry and accepting the NSW Kids recommendations, Kristina Keneally is using Labor’s delaying tactics by announcing yet another discussion paper instead of taking action,” Mrs Skinner said. “You would think that after having an inquiry and accepting the umpire’s decision Kristina Keneally would just get on with health reforms, instead she’s implementing Labor’s tried and true delaying tactics,” she said. “What is the point of spending taxpayers money having an official inquiry, if afterwards you can’t make a decision? “The incompetent State Labor Government is already falling behind on all of Commissioner Garling's recommendations in relation to NSW Kids.
“Medical professionals and patients want action on health, not more Labor delays. “Kristina Keneally and her inexperienced Health Minister Carmel Tebbutt should implement the Garling recommendations as Labor promised,” Mrs Ski
